The hotel is ideally situated in the Bridge of Cally, between Blairgowry and Glenshee, making it a great spot for exploring places like Braemar, Pitlochry, and Aberdeen. The rooms are spacious and clean, although a bigger TV would have been nice. The service is very attentive and helpful, especially accommodating late arrivals with a meal before closing. Enjoy the nice and peaceful surroundings despite some outdated aspects of the hotel.

The location is excellent for exploring the area, with lovely scenery and ideal access to the Cateran Trail.
Dining

The dining experience was a bit disorganized, reminiscent of a scene from Fawlty Towers with a lack of communication among staff.

The hotel had some pros like a convenient location for northern travel and beautiful scenery, but the rooms were in need of refurbishment and suffered from road noise. The service was welcoming, though some issues went unresolved. The dining experience was pleasant with warm breakfast options, and the facilities were adequate.

6.8/10

The hotel offers lovely and clean rooms with views of the river and trees, but there was some early morning noise due to the radio going on at 7 am. More enthusiastic cleaning is needed, although there were bowls for drinking water available. However, the price felt overpriced for the overall experience. A 'welcome pack' for dog owners in the rooms could be a nice addition.

Rooms

The rooms were lovely and clean, with a nice view of the river and trees.
Service
7.0
The staff was friendly and the hotel had a comfortable and clean atmosphere. However, there was some overselling of breakfast and dinner options. They also did not allow early check-in half an hour before the official time. Housekeeping was good, and a welcome drink was provided.
Location
6.0
The location was fine in terms of accessibility, with some nice walks available, but there wasn't much else around. There were key code entry systems in place and some additional charges for having a pet.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was average overall. The food was nice but not cooked to order, with limited options for breakfast.
Facilities

The hotel had down-to-earth staff and required a £20 charge for having a pet. They also recommended trying the Prosecco battered cod dish.

The hotel exceeded our expectations in cleanliness and comfort. The room was well-appointed and spacious, and with the help of a staff member, we enjoyed the TV reception. However, there was a slight issue with the placement of towels as the room had not been fully cleaned yet.

Rooms
8.0
The room fully met our expectations, very clean and well-appointed. We were pleased with the TV reception.
Service

The staff was excellent, particularly the one who resolved our concerns about parking. They are involved in a superbly run operation.
Location
7.0
The hotel is in the charming location of the Bridge of Cally, between Blairgowry and Glenshee, perfect for walks and with a cozy bar featuring a log burning fire. However, the run-down nature of the hotel somewhat affected the overall experience.
Dining
7.0
The Scottish breakfast was delicious; however, at 15 pounds per person, it felt a bit pricey. Locally caught fish was a highlight.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel should consider advertising their electric car charging facility for extra income. Easy checkout with key drop, but removes chance for customer feedback.
